Chiropractic is a branch of medicine that works with the spine and the nervous system that runs through it, to alleviate the pains of a “pinched nerve”. The spinal cord is covered by 24 moveable vertebra. When these vertebra rotate out of place, they can pinch on the nerves that extend out into the muscles and organs. When a nerve is pinched, it will start firing excessively. This can be compared to holding your finger against the end of a garden hose. This will eventually cause the muscle or organ not to function properly. The chiropractor will use just the right amount of force in the right direction to unpinch the nerve.
When most people think of back pain they think of chiropractic. Chiropractors have been presented the honor of being known as “back doctors”.

Chiropractic is “remarkably safe” according to the New Zealand government inquiry. It has an excellent safety record because chiropractic adjustment avoids invasive procedures or addictive drugs. A thorough history and exam are utilized to determine the best course of care for the patient. Adjustments are gentle and effective. Adjustments do not hurt. The chiropractor will use as light of force as possible with the correct line of drive to remove the problem that is occurring. Each chiropractic adjustment is tailored to the patient’s age, size, and unique problem.
Yes. The majority of insurance companies cover chiropractic care. Both Medicare and Medicaid (Medical Cards) cover chiropractic care. Most private insurance companies (ex. Blue Cross, Humana, Anthem) cover chiropractic care as well. Be sure to ask the chiropractor’s office if they are participating providers with your insurance company, to minimize the amount you will pay.
